Short answer: The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and petition clicks in aggregate. It has no accounts, no forms that collect personal information and no ads. Signing the petition happens on Change.org, under Change.org's own privacy policy.

Who runs this site?

ZeroJunkMail.org (“we,” “our” or “us”) is operated by Screendoor Studio Inc. This policy explains what information the site collects when you visit and how it is used. You don't need to give any personal information to use the site.

What information do we collect?

We don't collect personal information directly. The site has no accounts, no contact form, no newsletter and no other form that asks for your name, email address or street address.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-B3XQZWH6MJ) to understand how the site is used. It records:

  • Pages viewed and time spent on each
  • The website that referred you
  • Approximate location (country, region and city), which Google derives from your IP address
  • Device type, browser and operating system
  • Interactions such as clicks on petition links, recorded with the button's place on the page

Google Analytics sets first-party cookies, with names beginning “_ga,” to tell visits apart. Google says Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We see this information only in aggregate reports and do not try to identify individual visitors.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes standard request information, such as IP address and browser type, to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.

Petition links and the signature count

Links to the petition go to Change.org and carry tags (UTM parameters) that tell Change.org which page and button you came from. The tags contain no personal information. The signature count shown on this site is read from Change.org's public petition page by our server, at most every six hours; your browser does not contact Change.org unless you click a petition link.

Share links

The share links on the Take Action page are plain links. The site loads no Facebook or X code, and those services receive nothing from this site unless you click a link.

The EDDM Do Not Deliver tool

The Do Not Deliver tool is not open to the public and collects nothing. If that changes, this policy will change with it.

How do we use information?

We use the aggregate analytics data to:

  • See which pages are useful to readers
  • Improve the site's content and fix technical problems
  • Count clicks through to the petition, by the page and button they came from

We do not sell or rent information, and we don't share it with anyone for marketing.

What about cookies?

Google Analytics uses cookies to tell visits apart. The site itself doesn't use cookies to identify you. To opt out of Google Analytics, you can:

Because we don't collect personal information directly, we hold no personal data about you to access, correct or delete. To stop analytics collection, use the opt-out methods above.

California residents: we do not sell personal information.

Visitors in the European Union: Google Analytics data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. You can opt out of Google Analytics using the methods above.

Children's privacy

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
